Casting For Laws

Casting for Laws

Another reading of John 8:1-11

Casting stones

And aspersions

He said

I thought

He said

Nasturtiums

Anyway

There was this lady

Supposed adulteress

They were to stone her

Where was the bloke?

Or blokes?

How inconceivable

That so called

‘Civilisations’ have

Bad laws!

Perhaps

Some still do?

He Entered My Decapolis

He Entered My Decapolis

A ‘hearing’ of Mark 7:31-37

He entered my Decapolis

My region of haunts

All populated with complexity

On opening

My ears

Oh! My ears

Resounded

And, my heart pounded

As I was loosened

I was not the same

And words came

Flowing and flowing

Until growing

Into written reflections.

I heard

And found voice

A moment to rejoice

And bask

In freedom.

Dappled Day

Dappled Day

Dappled day

Dotted with the delightful

among the drifting

detritus.

Might we catch

a glimpse

of the delights

amid the drift.

~~~GUIDELINES~~~
  1.  Keep your post to below 500 words, as much as possible.
  2. All we ask is you link to a human news story on your blog on the last Friday of each month, one that shows love, humanity, and brotherhood. Something like this news, about a man who only fosters terminally ill children.
  3. Join us on the last Friday of each month in sharing news that warms the cockles of our heart. No story is too big or small, as long as it goes beyond religion and politics, into the core of humanity.
  4. Place the WE ARE THE WORLD Badge on your sidebar, and help us spread the word on social media. Tweets, Facebook shares, G+ shares using the #WATWB hashtag through the month most welcome. More Blogfest signups mean more friends, love and light for all of us.
  5. We’ll read and comment on each others’ posts, get to know each other better, and hopefully, make or renew some friendships with everyone who signs on as participants in the coming months.
In The Silent Spaces
In The Silent Spaces
A follow on from yesterday’s poem Which Space? This poem continues to explore what happens for us between the words.  The absence of sound and the blank spaces on a page or screen are not empty of meaning.  They are part of our response to the writing and advance the overall encounter.
In The Silent Spaces
In the silent spaces
Between the written words,
I hear the echoing cadences
Of the previous words.
In the punctuated ‘white space’,
Betwixt the written words,
Before my eyes,
I imagine lovely ‘word pictures’
In my mind, and
It spies,
Yes, it spies
An encounter with the words.
Maximum White Space
Maximum White Space
This very brief poem is a kind of ‘spare verse’.  It uses an economy of words to play between the spaces of the page and the poem. The silence of the ‘white space’, as it were, is to give a frame or container for the poem.  Compare with Which Space?
