Rain Fell On An Autumn Eve

Rain Fell On An Autumn Eve

Rain fell

On an autumn eve,

In a sunny shower,

Of sound

And light,

That might

Wet the ground

A little,

And refresh

The gardens

For a time.

Gentle, it was,

As is

The remaining

Scent,

Sneaking up

Into the nostrils,

To tantalise us

With the new

bounty

From above.
